GREAT NEWS this Wednesday Morning, from here in Columbus OH ... site of the incarnation of Vista's mFX data collection software.
Besides some tiny things that
Super Shaun
has been working on to fix in the near future, unfortunately a
woman, late yesterday afternoon, witnesses said, pulled from a
side street without stopping at the stop sign and got t-boned
(and died) by a customized van traveling on the through street
... and the troops of Columbus OH PD's AIU responded in kind.
Oh, did I mention that it was raining hard?
The road was completely shut down and while I held a giant golf
umbrella, they set their instrument up and initiated their
mFX
software for the task at hand.
Less 3/4 hr. later, we were taking our last RM 'shot' and doing
high-fives over the
simplicity, it's
built-in stability and
success
of using Vista's mFX
data collection software at it's very first critical-incident
test.
It works! It works! It WORKS!! :-)

"Forensic Mapping System" adds
Software choice!
In late June, the Kara Co. expanded their list of recommended
software to include
VistaFX
by Visual Statement, Kamloops, BC. Other police-related
software vendors were also contacted, however
Visual Statement
was the only one to respond positively. Reviews of the product
have been very high from new users and those who've switched
from other brands. Under the title 'SceneWORKS'
found here, a "how to" steps are offered, with more being added
routinely. Complete training is provided in a 3-day
course.
My Remarks:
MapScenesPRO
continues to be fully supported and recommended. The Kara Co.,
after LISTENING to their current and
new list of Public Safety, as well as
other end users make this business decision. The adage:
One Size Doesn't Fit All, is true. Choice in this software
arena provides Balance, and has been asked for by our loyal
clients operating in the real world conditions. It is easy to
see how others have been impressed with how the Visual Statement
product has made the 'complex' simple
and easy to work with.
VistaFX
deserves a fair review.
