Three (3) HIGH P.S.F.M. RECOMMENDATIONS-

1-  Always perform the Reference Measurement Protocol at each scene.

The definition of the Reference Measurement Protocol is two (2) independent 'shots' taken to a known distance, using conventional hand-measuring tools, to verify the Instruments ability to measure a distance and two-angles.

2-  If using a Total Station's Red laser Dot for Aiming Purposes to Evidence Points, always check the alignment of the
reticle cross-hair of the Instrument against a reflective, independent "target" point.

Test targets are available commercially.  Some manufactures provide them.

3-  Always use a Electronic Total Station that has a minimum of a Single-Axis Compensator.

Most Total Stations in use today come standard with a Dual-Axis Compensator.
